If my memory serves me right, this was taken in 1982. We’d gone down to Southampton Docks to have a look at some Polish Tall Ships (stern of one in left of image) and this special crane. This was a few days before it was moved down to the Solent, the stretch of water between Portsmouth and the Isle Of Wight, to raise the remains of the Mary Rose.
