Dartmoor, History, Nature, River

A superb clapper bridge and a hint of sunshine? Can’t be bad! Not too crowded either. While it was fresh and blowy on the higher parts of the moor, the weather down lower at Postbridge was much gentler.

I love coming here when it’s not too busy. If I could travel way back in time I’d love to watch our forefathers building this bridge. This is not the only surviving clapper bridge on Dartmoor, but it’s definitely one of the best. Very accessible too. The adjacent road bridge isn’t bad either!
