Firstly, a Tacx turbo from Decathlon (24% off) so I can set up one of my bikes in front of my tv or iMac and cycle away to my heart’s content, whatever the weather! This will provide me with the exercise I need and get me fit enough to join some group rides, without struggling to keep up, come Spring. This is also timely as I’m having trouble stabilising my blood glucose levels at present. It’ll be interesting to see what effect this increase in exercise has!
Secondly, grabbing a coffee in Waterstones, I came across the book pictured above. While there are many books out there on Mindfulness, this one is one of the best. It uses a technique called Mindfulness-based Cognitive Therapy which has proven benefits for Depression sufferers. A few years ago this approach was recommended to me by a psychiatrist, but when I looked into joining sessions, it was only available in Oxford. I was pretty thrilled to find this book as it’s written by the same folks. So far, it’s extremely readable, I just need the persistence to work through it and practise, practise, practise!
